A conference was held in Sigüenza, Spain, at the end of May 2006. Titled: Geology of the area between North and South America, with focus on the origin of the Caribbean Plate. Convened by Keith H. James and Maria Antonieta Lorente.
Conference proceedings will appear in a Special Publication of the Geological Society of London, edited by K. H. James, M. A. Lorente and J. Pindell. It will include discussion points captured at the conference, comments by the chairs and suggestions for studies/ODP drill sites.
